The golden sand of the paradise island, Koh Phangan Thailand.

Koh Phangan in Thailand has some of the most beautiful beaches that you can imagine. Golden sand and aquamarinesea surrounded by green jungle hills and rock faces make it the perfect destination for a beach holiday of any kind.

Some of the most popular beaches like Salad beach, Bottle beach, Tong Nai Pan and Haad Yao offer every type of accommodation from traditional beach hut to luxury resorts that rival some of the best in the world. 

There is nothing more relaxing than hearing the sound of the waves gently lapping against the shore whilst swinging in a hammock and driftingin and out of sleep. This you can do from the balcony of a small traditional wooden hut that sits right on the beach and feel like you are part of the environment. If you prefer there are fully air conditioned beach villas created with the beautiful teak wood and furnished with big soft beds and individual(a) swimming pools.

Feel your world dissappear as you swim in the beautiful warm blue sea. If you like to snorkel you will sea a large variation of tropical fish swimming amongst the coral reefs. Diving has become a popular sport on the island and lessons can be arranged from any of the resorts. You can either dive on the sites around the island or go off for day trips on any of the dive boats that the dive schools run daily. If you prefer to just lie back, relax and float in the shallows then you will love the crystal clear, warm water that surrounds the island.

Access to the island has become a great deal easier over recent years. Within the last few years travelling to the island has become a great deal easier. You can fly from Bangkok to Koh Samui the neighbouring island and then either take the Haad Rin Queen Ferry which takes 40 minutes to one part of Koh Phangan or you can take the high speed catamaran to the port of Thong Sala. Thong Sala is the main port on the south of the island. From there you can take the traditional Thai Songtale taxis toanywhere on the island including beaches like Salad Beach on the north west coast, Chaloklum in the north and Had Yao.
